Let’s get our schedules organized in a way that will stick, flow, and benefit our entire family!
We all have a million things going on and we find ourselves asking, “How it is already Friday? How is it already January? How is it already 2024?!”
I know I can’t believe it either! There are so many things we NEED and WANT to get done. That’s the hard part, finding time to do it all. If our schedules are organized, there is time to accomplish the things that must get done AND the things we dream about doing.
This post is all about how to organize your schedule so you can be the productive and happy mom that you are!
Let’s Organize your Schedule
Determine your non-negotiables
FIRST- mak3 a priority list and put all the things that you’d like to accomplish. There doesn’t have to be an order of importance at first, just get everything out on paper! Then, if you’d like, re-order it by importance. Homeschool is going to be near the top of my list because it is truly my biggest responsibility. Before I need the house pristine, I need to make sure my kids are properly and thoroughly educated. This part is important- be honest with yourself and think of what is truly important to you and your family.
Divide your to-do’s into Categories
Now the fun begins! Get ready to become super mom by simply organizing your schedule.
Now its time to turn all those things on your non negotiable list and turn them into categories. Yours may look completely different than mine and that that’s ok! What matters is that your dreams get accomplished because you take ownership of your schedule. You can be a present mom and a writer, an artist, or an entrepreneur. Once you have categorized everything, your ready to watch the magic happen!
Write down what must get done in each category
Now make a list under each category of everything you need and want to accomplish within it. Here is an example using homeschool…
For my homeschool category, I wrote every subject and task I wanted to accomplish each week. Later I’ll strategically divide them thru out the days of the week. It might seem overwhelming writing everything down but don’t worry! You will be shocked at how much you can accomplish by organizing your schedule this way.
Create a Split for Each Category
Now the fun part! You may have heard of a split if your into working out. In essence, it’s dividing every body part you want to hit through out the week so it all gets exercised. We’re going to do that with each of our categories. Here is an example of how I’ve used a split to create our weekly homeschool schedule.
Now do this with each category!
it really helps to write it down either on paper or a document.
Put it into your calendar
Once each category is divided into a split we will put each day’s split in the proper day on a calendar.
Once all your splits are complete and you start to fill in Monday on your calendar you may need to adjust some of what is on your split. I know I have to at times. Remember, much gets accomplished over time not all at once, so its ok to cut back if your feeling over scheduled.
Here is an example of what filling in your caller will look like
Put it all into Google Calender
The Last and optional step is to fill in time blocks. Write what time and about how long each task will take, You’ll start to know it by hearts soon enough. Or you’ll take advantage of the free brain space and let your calendar tell you what to do.
Once you’ve got the time frames roughly figured out, add it all into google calendar. This takes some time but is well worth it. Everything you need to accomplish is right in your phone and will give you the reminders you’ll often need a a busy mom.
With this method of creating a schedule, you’ll feel organized, accomplished, and ready to take on a new year, month or week. You’ll find it possible to do all the things that are in your heart to do, even if you are in the thick of motherhood. Organizing your schedule will teach you children discipline, promptness, and show them they can do anything they set their heart to as well.
Get to it all you productive Mamas!
This post is all about organizing your schedule like a boss to accomplish more than you ever imagined!
